She is a speaker on diabetes-related topics and has appeared on numerous radio programs and Internet webcasts. WILLIAM H. POLONSKY, PhD, CDE, is Assistant Clinical Professor in Psychiatry at the University of California, San Diego. A licensed psychologist and certified diabetes educator, he is the author ofDiabetes Burnout: What to Do When You Can't Take it Anymore. He is the founder of the Behavioral Diabetes Institute, the world's first organization dedicated to addressing the unment psychological needs of people with diabetes. STEVEN V. EDELMAN, MD, is founder and director of Taking Control of Your Diabetes (TCOYD) a national nonprofit organization that promotes education, motivation, and self-advocacy for people with diabetes and their loved ones.
